Installed ja_magz into test environment and when I goto extensions>templates I see JLIB_INSTALLER_DEFAULT_STYLE instead of ja_magz in the list of template names.

    Help

    Hi there,

Could you please create an Akeeba Backup backup archive and install it either in your local sandbox or on another hosting and see if this issue persists?

    Regards,

    Alex

There are many ways to skin the cat.

I would suggest you create a new test folder and a database (obviously, on your current remote hosting, where you host your main web-site) and install in there either our JA Biz Quick Start for J3 or J3 + JA Biz template and see if the error persists.

    Hope this helps

    Regards,

    Alex

    Hi there,

After investigating your system further, I have a strong feeling that your issue most likely have to do with your Akeeba Bakup archive and not with your hosting, as I am on the same hosting with you and my installation of “JA Magz Quick Start” for Joomla 3 there went fine.

There is a chance that your current Akeeba Backup archive either has been created corrupt or its data gets lost when you transfer it or may be its restoration process fails.

You may want to play with reducing its size by excluding from Akeeba Backup archive at least your MP3 files (see below my screenshot with Akeeba Backup error messages due to them) or, better still, the entire /images/ folder and /administrator/components/com_spstgsrv/backups/ folder, create a new archive and see if this helps.

If that fails, another route for you to consider is to turn off the Akeeba Backup extensions installer, rewrite your current Joomla system and reinstall the “JA Magz” template via Joomla extensions installer.

Although apparently you use Joomla extensions installer to install your “JA Magz” template, actually since your “System – System Restore Points” “Akeeba Backup” plugin is enabled, “Akeeba Backup” has overridden Joomla extensions installer with it’s own version (see my screenshot below with the corresponding “Akeeba Backup” message).

Here is the step-by-step to test this theory:

1 Uninstall your “JA Magz” template
2 Disable the “System – System Restore Points” plugin
3 Upload into your current test site Joomla 3.2.3 zip archive and unzip it right there allowing current folders/files full override, thus “rinsing” your current Joomla installation (FYI: all three files, containing the “JLIB_INSTALLER_DEFAULT_STYLE” language key belong to Joomla system and have nothing to do with your JA Magz template).
4 Install your “JA Magz” template.

For more information and support on “Akeeba Backup” backup restoration process and its possible issues please consult its comprehensive documentation and support at https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/site-restoration.html

    Hope this helps

    Regards,

    Alex

OK what I have done is to completely rebuild my joomla system! I used a fresh 3.2.3 install and cyend’s sp_transfer to bring over data for core and components…

    Thanks for all your efforts.

    Happy joomlarting.
