Okay, hopefully I will be able to explain my question clearly enough . . .

Let’s say my main site is based on a particular template. Now, I know that I can “assign” auxillary templates within my same root folder – but, as you may know, these templates will pull from many of the same parameters as my pimary default site (i.e. menu items, module positions, etc.)

Now, what if I want to install a Quickstart Package for a template onto my host server, but have it be independent of my default site and it’s respective parameters? What would be the steps I need to go about this? What if I want to install multiple Quickstart Packages for several different templates? Would I need a separate Joomla install altogether?

Hope this is not too confusing.

Thank you for any help/assistance you can provide.

You need install each template on each Joomla installation. Quickstart package does include the Joomla installation, so the setting in this quickstart cannot affect to other.

So, is what you’re saying is that I would need to create a new sub-domain on my server for each quickstart package” I wanted to install?

In other words (for example sake), let’s say that my primary domain is http://www.myfakewebsite.com.

Let’s say I wanted to install the quickstart for JA_Teline for an “all news” part of my site. Would I then create a subdomain and call it http://www.myfakewebite-news.com (or something like that)? If so, and at that point, would I then install the quickstart package onto that new sub-domain’s file structure (which, I assume) would be a file structure all unto it’s own?

http://yoursubdomain.myfakewebsite.com or http://wwwmyfakewebsite.com/yoursubdomain will the url be. If you have each in its
own subdomain or use the time to set it all up under the main domain is up to you, but if it was me that should
do it i think i would go for the one domain part and spend the time to set up the site the way i wanted it that way
