    While I don’t normally comment on JA’s methods and direction re: past templates,

    The problem lies with php v 5.3 used in the latest wamp/xammp etc. Since the creation of all the JA 1.5 templates, The tag ‘TYPE’ Has been deprecated and no longer is recognised by the system, this is why you need to replace all instances of it with ‘ENGINE’. in both sql files as pointed out previously.

    This is why reverting to an earlier version of WAMP works, it came with a different earlier version of php etc.

    While I agree its annoying, it’s not overly hard or time consuming to do yourself. I have had to do it if I CHOOSE to load a 1.5 template for whatever reason. Given 1.5 is dead, given most people would have upgraded to a later version of the templates by now, I don’t think JA has any obligation to revise all JA 1.5 quickstarts to accomodate a few who MUST have the 1.5 version.

    While we live in a push button /everything done for us world, or if you are an apple ‘I’ fan, then there’s an apple app (MacApp) for it somewhere in an alternate reality. Sometimes you just have to do somethings for yourself. Get over it,man up, and just replace the necessary code,
    For those uber mods with fingers hovering over the BAN button, please note the use of the 🙂 Smiley Face :). LOL

    @tfosnom
    Very kind of you to answer.
    Why all insist on saying that the ruling is WAMP?

    Sample_data file, is corrupt!
    I repeat: it is truncated.

    I do not know how to say.
    View as sample_data file starts and is very easy to understand.
    Joomlart must provide the original file, and nothing else.
    It is so difficult to understand?

    View as Sample _data BEGIN:

    ————————-
    TRUNCATE TABLE `#__banner`;

    — Dumping data for table `j2d884_banner`

    I have the same problem and it is not valid to say that 1.5 is dead, and forget it. I have a web site that doesn’t work with 2.5 and I need to use 1.5. I do know Joomla will stop supporting 1.5 but I don’t care I paid to JoomlaArt for a service and at least that should work.

    BTW Joomla 2.5 is not made for large web sites, only works with simple web site with no more than 8 thousand articles and no more than 100 categories, which is not the way I have my web site designed.

    Hi Madelman2012,

    Can you explain the problem in more details? I think Joomla 2.5 works better than Joomla 1.5 does, I am not sure about Joomla 2.5 limitations that you mentioned.

    I had same problem on 1.5
    The replacing TYPE=MyISAM ENGINE=MyISAM worked for me.
    Think there were three files that needed changing. 1 in one file, 33 in another and 56 in another.
    I ctrl + f to find them and chose replace all instances. Only takes 5 – 10 mins. gd luck.
