Hi, there. I am testing Joomla 1.0 on a local machine and managed to get everything set up okay. However, when trying to install the ja_polaris template, I continually get the “Installation file not found” error. I am using MAMP on Mac OS X 10.4 and have unzipped the ja_polaris directory to /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/Joomla_1/administrator/components/com_installer/template/. Is there something I am missing? Everything else seems to work fine, just not the template installation. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi There,

You have to install the template with the Joomla-installer in the backend of Joomla.

Choose this menu: Installers / Templates – Site.

    Kind Regards,

Thanks, I actually tried that initially and it didn’t work. What I discovered since my last post was that the ZIP file I initially downloaded was somehow corrupted. I downloaded it again, unzipped it to the installation directory, and then it installed just fine the second time. I appreciate your help, though!

I guess sometimes it’s just as they say, “Try, try again…”

Try a simpler way: download the template, extract to a folder ja_polaris and copy the whole folder ja_polaris to your templates folder.
Now go to your administrator cpanel, Site->Template Manager->Site Template, choose JA Polaris being the default template.
