I can’t seem to figure out how to use some of the great typography listed here: http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#joomla17-templates.joomlart.com/ja_social

Is there a place where I can learn what code I need to enter to use these in my articles?

    Thanks 🙂

Generally the JA (online) demo or a Quickstart install has a menu item called typography that showcases the stuff and in some instances shows the code needed to wrap around the content etc. also in your editor panel you should have a ” typo button clicking on that brings up a preview panel of stuff you can insert if you double click these items they insert the button style etc for you, you then switch to CODE view and insert you own content within the style parameters
    Hope this helps

Yes, I see in my editor that I can use the “style” dropdown to choose a style (ie. Button). But it doesn’t give me the option to edit the color, etc.

Some instances?? Why isn’t it ALL instances? Why show us what CAN be done, and then not give us exact instructions on HOW to do it? Doesn’t make sense to me…

I wasn’t talking about the style drop list, I meant the JA typo button, that inserts the correct span and class code to get it done, allowing you to replace the insert your text here with whatever you want, while templates are there to remove and insulate you from highly technical stuff at times you need to do some things yourself, like experiment with codes and learn from the built in examples makes sense to me.

But here’s the guides in two different forms found in the JA Social 1.5 online guide

Thanks for your patience with me…

JA Typo button? I’m not sure what you mean. Are you able to give me a screenshot or something? Thanks so much 🙂

Anyone? I can’t seem to find any Ja-Typography button in my editor…I’m using JCE.

And yes, I do have the JA_Typography button installed and published

If you are not displaying the jatypo button at the bottom of the content editor, please ensure you are using the latest version for the Joomla package you are using. JaTypo had problems working with JCE in the early J.1.7x versions and was updated a to suit. please go to the JA social download section. choose your correct Joomla version. Look for the jatypo separate download, please check date of plugin. If the plugin is later than your existing one download, remove existing and replace.

Please ensure you are using the latest JCE editor V2.0.17 available here

I include 2 screenies of the content panel showing JaTypo button and with it opened; showcasing the list of typography it allows you to click and choose

Hey Shane…I am using the latest versions of both. Still no luck.

If I switch editors, I see the same images as in your popup…

    Hi earthson!
If you are seeing the same images shown in the screenies, then I am thinking your problem is solved. Yes?
I would like to mark this thread solved!
    Thanks!

@ blaine, I think he means if he switches from JCE to TinyMCE he see the typo button, I’m looking for the patch to fix it in another thread.

@ earthson please unzip and install this .js patch to your plugins/system/jatypo/jatypo/assets folder overwriting the existing script.js… making a backup of the jatypo folder first in case of problems 🙂
, and let me know the result please

Weird – I tried a patch I found in the forums, but it didn’t work. Luckily, YOUR patch DID work! Problem solved.

Thanks for all your effort.:laugh::laugh:

is this my patch from before? this SHOULD not be needed anymore with the current jce & typo… if this is not the case we need to send this to devs again.

I tried this solution in Joomla 2.5.1, with JA_Typo plugin (enabled!) version 2.5.1 and JCE 2.0.21. I can’t see a Typo-Button below JCE in my article-manager when I try to edit an existing article.

    Hi Gverheij
You no longer need to use that script.js – the whole ja typo etc. was modified and updated top make that patch unneccessary
Ensure you have both the ja typo plugin and the ja typo BUTTON plugin indstalled and enabled I use JCE and j2.51 (Nex) and it’s working fine here.
