I noticed this new template didn’t come with a user guide…
that being said, can anyone tell me how to set up the JA Newsflash scoller like on the demonstration site?

October 5, 2007 at 3:55 pm #230592The instructions are in the readme thread above. They have excluded the instructions from the template pack in order to make it more difficult for warez people to use the template. I don’t think this was a good idea if you ask me. I don’t think the paying customers should have it more difficult to get orientation just in order to annoy the warez people (who usually download all stuff they can get and don’t use it anyway).
You need to publish the news module in the top position but it doesn’t seem to work like in the demo-site.
October 5, 2007 at 4:02 pm #230593I tried all of that in the readme…but in what module position does it go?
I can’t get it to scroll the newsflashes…I have everything set up, but the newflashes just won’t show up…they are published and everything as they should be…

October 5, 2007 at 4:15 pm #230600Top-position is correct, newsflashes will not be scrolled at the moment in this module – this is a bug. After the first item the newsflash module goes to an empty view. But you should see the header image.

October 9, 2007 at 9:40 am #230841I used the newsflash module for Magia and it works perfectly for me.
Give it a try. No guarantees that it will work for you.

I am also very much interested in getting this detailed instructions! I have spent too many ours so far for nothing. I only get the first “news text” and then nothing happens.
I really like the Iris template and the JA Newsflash is a vital feature.

You can also try out the ultimate content slider from joomlaworks
http://www.joomlaworks.gr/#downloads_section (UCD)After playing around a bit with the settings I like it even more than the mageia news module since it provides a lot of options and works really well!
