I am setting up a site with multiple “subsites”, and I need advice on the best way to set up the modules.

There is a standard template, and standard menu template for each category, but different articles in each category, based on the parent category. For example, if the website was on Animals –

    Dogs
    – Health
    – Dogs-health-article1
    – Dogs-health-article2
    – Breeds
    – Dogs-breeds-article1
    – Food
    – Dogs-food-article1
    – Dogs-JA-News1
    – Dogs-JA-Bulletin
    Cats
    – Health
    – Cats-health-article1
    – Cats-health-article2
    – Breeds
    – Cats-breeds-article1
    – Food
    – Cats-food-article1
    – Cats-JA-News1
    – Cats-JA-Bulletin
    Animal3…Animal4….Animal25

The way I can do this is by creating 75 different menu items (25 animals by 3 categories each), and 25 JA-Bulletin Modules (each with a different animal as the category) and 25 JA-News Modules (each with a different category). Obviously this is a lot of modules and menus.

Is there a clever way to do this, by somehow having JA Bulletin know to take the category type where the module is located at the time? Is it possible if I create 25 templates, that I can somehow send the template name to the module, and have it only list the categories?

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Joomla 1.6, and Teline IV.

    Thanks!
