January 28, 2009 at 7:03 pm #137601Getting more and more hits form people using internet explorer 8 now and it’s available for download, soon it will replace IE7, unfortunately this is what JA Sanidine II looks like in IE8, it is also impossible to navigate as the menu’s don’t work 😮

January 28, 2009 at 7:22 pm #288701On the positive side…there are LOTS of web sites that will break in IE8 at the moment.
We had this same problem when IE7 was in beta…and MS finally worked out most of the compatibility issues before releasing a Production browser.
I’d just sit tight and let MS finish work on their browser. Making changes to accomodate a browser in Beta would be an exercise in futility I’m afraid. We’d change something, then they change something, then we change something to handle their changes and then they change again….and on and on.
John.

That’s what I thought until today when I read this:

today the company has put out its first release candidate for the public. This is the last stage for the browser before it is finalised, although very few changes are expected…http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7852340.stm

January 28, 2009 at 8:12 pm #288716do you realize until lst year, that more people use IE6 than 7, it will be a long time before ie8 kicks in.
many sites, major sites, break in IE8, as stated above, hang tight.
cross browser compatibility has become a major specialty for developers, you may have to hire a specialist to make everything work in all browsers.

February 3, 2009 at 7:20 am #289324everytime i see IE7 and IE8 i cry out loud how “good” IE6 was (death in support according to microsoft). Honestly. I would love to see more users using firefox, chrome, safari, opera, they don’t mess with the code as IE does 🙁

February 4, 2009 at 9:11 pm #289542I was on the phone with my brother a little bit ago. I sent him to my journal to show him how I was trying to incorporate High Slide on my site. He said, “Your logo at the top is not centered and there’s a graphic missing at the top, and your weather snippet is not situated on the page right…and, and, and…”
By this time I’m freaking.
Yep, sure enough he’s using IE8!!! I fear this is going to be a nightmare. :((

February 5, 2009 at 11:33 am #289700perhaps you can try http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage .
is a AIO package that has all IEs versions so you can test your websites everytime and try to make it look the best.
I know IE8 sucks, I just wonder why IE has to load websites in their own Way. It would be easier if it loaded just like safari, chrome and the rest of browsers.
On the “good” side, IE6 is still the most used version of IE as far as i know.February 28, 2010 at 11:06 pm #334151Please help me understand, because I tried everything, even with a complet new unmodified template pack, but one of my sites, using sanidine II looks just messed up in internet explorer. It seems fine in mozzila, opera, or Chrome.
Is this a template bug, a template incompatibility, or its just Mr. IE. Because other joomlart templates looks just fine in IE, too.
my link : http://www.elimviena.at
Any suggestion is appreciated.

March 3, 2010 at 5:35 pm #334688Hi, tienhc, and thanks for your answer.
I attach some screens. I mention I user Internet explorer 8.0.6. I tested on my 3 computers and the same results. I do not use, anyway, IE, but other members of that site do.
Thanks in advance.
