March 13, 2014 at 9:00 pm #195766Hello all
I discovered a nice Masthead functionality, that is when you click on an article to view it in full view, the category masthead or frontpage masthead disappear from view, so you can read the article without the masthead cluttering up the screen.
Is it possible to get this functionality for all module positions above the main body, example the slideshow and if you publish some html (or other) modules in the masthead position…to have them disappear in full article view?

In JA Masshead module, you can set Menu Item to display with module and you can control where Masshead module to show/hide.

As my answer above, you can manage to show/hide on Masshead module and it displays on all positions on your site.
Please have look at JA Masshead module userguide for reference here

March 15, 2014 at 2:51 pm #526824Hello Ninja
I have searched all my modules, and can find no module named “Ja Masshead” or “JA Masthead”. I only find “T3 Masthead 1” and “T3 Masthead 2” and those are pure html modules. I installed the purity III demo package, so could it be Purity III demo does not correspond to the reference guide you linked to above?
EDIT: OK, I now see that JA Masshead is a paid club extension. I had a look at the documentation, and did not understand much of it, so I am not able to determine if this module will do what I want.
Example, could I have a slideshow running in the top of the page, example in an article category, and then when I click to view an article in full view, the slideshow disappear from view? May I have any slideshow module published in the slideshow position, or do I have to use the JA Masshead module in the slideshow position to make this happen? Can the JA Masshead module contain another slideshow module, or is it possible to create a slideshow in the JA Masshead module? What about other combinations? What If I want four attention grabbing pictures with some tekst under each picture in a module row above the main body, could the JA Masshead module let me do that, so when an article is clicked to view in full view, the four top modules (pictures) or whatever disappear from view?
Many questions I know, but I need to understand how a module (JA Massehead) works before I consider paying to get it.

March 17, 2014 at 2:40 am #526869@guffas,: It is true thatT3 Masthead 1, T3 Masthead 2 and Masthead module in Purity III template are custom html modules.
If you want to use JoomlArt extensions, you can either go with JAEC Extensions Club or JATC Template club membership, as both subscriptions grant you access to many extensions, including JA Slideshow, JA Masshead…

I am not sure if you mean to use JA masshead for slideshow feature?
JA Masshead module is used to display the masshead title like the JoomlArt masshead. With this module, the Masshead can be configured to be in any pages with different titles, descriptions as well as background images.
You can assign JA Masshead into slideshow position but you could not load JA Masshead module to contain another slideshow module.
For slideshow feature, please have a look at our JA slideshow module here:

March 19, 2014 at 4:55 pm #527366Thank you Ninja
But the question still remain…..if using the JA Slidehow, or any other module above the mainbody position, let say in a category, will the slideshow (or any other module) disappear from view when someone click on an article to view it in full article item view?
This is what I want. I want to be able to have some different functionality(modules) published above the mainbody output module, that hide themselves when a person click to view the full article. In full article item view, I don’t want those above mainbody published modules to show, I dont’ want them to clutter the viewingspace for the viewer. The masthead in Purity III works this way, but other modules don’t, so how can I get this functionality in other module positions?

March 20, 2014 at 10:06 am #527461If that article (or category that article belongs to) is assigned to a menu item then when you click to open, it will direct to full article view page. Then make sure that you don’t assign any module to this menu item. This way will help to view details article only.
