December 17, 2010 at 10:25 am #157562I have a site that was on the Opal template – then i wanted to update the site a bit and tried anion. Since changing to anion, i started to get 500 Internal Server Error’s – sometimes it takes a few clicks and sometimes it take a while, but it always comes. First i thought it might be something with componants or the web server and i started to uninstall and disable componants – nothing changed.
then i took a chance and switch back to opal as i still have not uninstalled it – click and click and all worked fine with no 500 Internal Server Error’s – further more the site is about 3 times faster with the opal template then the anion template. So, i took another change and tried the community template – same issues as with anion.
basically i really would like to upgrade the site, but having 500 Internal Server Error every now and then look really bad and i will loose users faster than i can find them.
the one difference between the templates is that opal is not using t3 and i was wondering if that might not be the problem and why it is so much slower than the old template
Please help.

December 17, 2010 at 11:43 am #3673171) For internal server server issue,
Try to increase memory_session limit in php.ini file::
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=246541
Also, You can try out this extension to increase limit::
http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/hosting-a-servers/servers/7747You can also check in with your hosting provider as internal server error can also occur due to hosting flaws

January 3, 2011 at 8:04 am #369788thanks for the reply but it seems to be the hosting server that had a problem – asked them to move me to new server and the problems seems be gone – thanks again.
