    add the compatability code for a quick fix and to see it displayed correctly

    go to your admin and find your index.php file
    add the following code into the first line of your <head> of that file

    <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=7″ />

    I can’t figure out where to post this code. I placed it at the very beginning of the index.php file and received error codes. Sorry – still learning. Can someone tell me exactly where to place it? Thanks!

    hcavalier,
    It seems there isn’t anybody in home.
    I have the same doubt of you. I placed the code at index.php and corrected the banner, but showed code errors above it.
    Any help?
    :confused:

    I finally figured it out. I was trying to add the code to the php file itself. Finally, I edited the template through Joomla and it worked.

    This is what I did: while in the Joomla administration I clicked on Extensions>Template Manager, chose JA Zibal, and clicked on edit HTML. Scroll down to <head> and on the line below paste <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=7″ />.

    Then my site magically was fixed!!! 😀 Check it out at http://www.oldschoolsforsale.com

    Have a great day!

    Hi!
    I solved the problem reading this tread: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/notice-fixed-the-website-is-ugly-in-ie8/

    You could try the procedure.

    Thanks anyway!
    🙂
