For some reason the intro images I set for pages like: http://sci5.org/index.php/graphic-design/digital-media are showing up as Full Article images. How do I remove these from the side of my blog article but retain it as a thumbnail when viewing from an overview list?

You can apply my tweak below:

Create templates/ja_mono/css/custom.css file and add new rule

.itemid-218 .jamasthead.blend-bg {
    background: transparent !important;
}
