    Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to know if Ja Zeolite II is compatible with latest verison of Virtuemart?

    I’m currently running Joomla 1.5.25
    Virtuemart: 1.1.9
    Joomfish: 2.0.4

Are the Joomlart components comaptible with it too?

    Thank you and best regards

    Greetings pika:

Our JA Zeolite II Template is currently compatible with J1.5 and, in Sept 2011, was updated with/for VirtueMart 1.1.9 —> http://www.joomlart.com/updates/joomla-templates/ja-larix-ja-zeolite-and-zeolite-ii-updated-for-virtuemart-119-for-joomla-15

However, according to the Virtuemart website, VM 2.0 is compatible with both J1.5 and J1.7 based templates/sites –> http://virtuemart.net/news/list-all-news/413-virtuemart-200-takes-off

Therefore, if you wish, you can integrate VM 2.0 into your JA Zeolite II template. However, configuration of such – at this time – would need to be performed manually by yourself … including any CSS and/or Virtuemart template file customizations to fit your site theme.

    Hello TomC,

thank you for your quick reply! Ok so customizations on template, which we already made we will have to do it again?

I saw that via Joomlart extension manager its possible to get the customizations back, is that correct?

Do you know maybe when the template will be updated for VM 2.0.? I saw one post on this forum that said when new STABLE verison of VM will come out, then Joomlart will update their Ja Zeolite II to that verison.

I apologize for so much questions.

    Best regards

Okay, this part I am not 100% certain about – insofar as the update relationship of the virtuemart template files (within the virtuemart component structure) between VM 1.1.9 and VM 2.0. It is possible that, if you already customized the .tpl files within the virtuemart component, that you may not need to “redo” your customizations (if the template files, themselves, are not significantly updated).

My recommendation, in this respect, would be to make a backup of your site (preferably utilizing AKEEBA BACKUP )
    – afterwhich you can give upgrading to VM 2.0 a try.

OR, perhaps even better . . . test out VM 2.0 on a localhost (WAMP or XAMPP) server and see if you can simply overwrite the VM 2.0 template files (i.e. .tpl) with your previous .tpl files from your current/backed-up site. This way, you do not risk messing anything up with your current/live site until you are certain things will work as you want them to.

(If you’re uncertain as to what I am referring to when I refer to .tpl files, SEE THIS TUTORIAL )

    Make sense?

Yes it makes sense thank you.

I think I will wait with upgrade to 2.0. for a while because of other modules…

Personally, I think that is a good idea … as not only will it allow others to work through/out the kinks in this new VM version, but it will allow a little bit of additional times for VM extension developers to update and create their extensions and themes and such.
