putting together a site that makes good use of the Mega menu feature to keep things nice and clean for the visitor

it is feeling very inefficient but I have used single article items to build 6 main menu items with 17 sub menu items and 18 sub sub menu items

all seemed to be working well but my latest new main menu is acting flaky. It has 2 sub menus each with a few items. But the sub sub menues collapse if the mouse passes the first item

the menu set ups in Joomla are consistent with the others that work properly so I am a bit stuck. Ultimately the site map will have over 40 sub menu items and over 100 sub sub menu items so I need to sort this before proceeding

    to update

have tested in different browsers and diffrrent screen sizes – it is an issue with 1024 wide screens in Firefox 6

one work around I have found to get rid of the issue is to turn on menu animation to ‘slide’. Fade still doesnt help though

it seems to be something to do with proximity of the menu to the screen edge – as the right most menu is the troublesome one, not the last menu added to the site

So, have you “trial-and-error’d” your way to your own solution?

    Hi Tom

well I have a workaround but it doesnt mean there isnt a bug – it would be nice to have the choice to leave menu animation off but yes the site is functional

the bug looks to be something to do with proximity of menu items to the edge of the window – ‘no animation’ and ‘fade’ try to put the sub sub menu items to the right of the sub menu (and then collapses as you mouse over) but ‘slide’ puts it to the left and it works

Well, I tell you what I will do . . . I will submit this issue as a potential “bug” for our JA Developers to take a look into.

In the meantime, I am glad that you were able to find a functional workaround.
