March 12, 2012 at 10:04 am #174894JA Elastica j2.5
My understanding was that this template resized itself to fit browser windows.
Some visitors use Ctrl+ and Ctrl- to change the font size.
I observe that in JA-Elastica using Ctrl+ increases the font size and the viewport size so that it is necessary to scroll right to see the edge of the screen.
However, if you reduce the screen size to the same width (relative to the original that one sees on the screen after the use of Ctrl+) the modules realign themselves to produce a better user experience.
Could this realignment be introduced to be triggered by the use of Ctrl+ ?
Thank you
Tony Davis
The thumbnail original.jpg is a horizontal slice of the original page. It shows two modules with white backgrounds and one with grey all on a red diagonally striped ground. On my preview screen it is the rightmost of the thumbnails.
The thumbnail CTRL+.jpg is a similar slice of the page after Ctrl+ has been pressed. The module with the grey background has fallen off the right edge of the page. The right screen margin is just to the right of ‘wo’ in white text. In preview it is the middle image.
The thumbail SizeDown.jpg is a taller slice of the page after it had been reverted to the original page size and then the right margin moved to the left until it was just to the right of ‘wo’ in white text in the grey module. The modules rearranged themselves to place the grey module lower and more to the left than on the original screen. All modules are completely visible on the reduced size screen.

Having written the above, it occurred to me that I had not really explored the effect of Ctrl- Reducing the text size does induce rearrangement behaviours and on returning to the original size the modules are returned to the correct positions. So something about Ctrl+ Ctrl- does induce rearrangement, but only sometimes.
