Using the JEvents Latest Events Module – Version: 1.5.5 b1879 (Oct 2010)

When displaying this Latest Events module with the Purity II template, the left and right borders of a default module are being ‘pushed’ down. I suspect this is because of the fact that JEvents uses a nested table for it’s output, and one of the many “ja-module” or “ja-box..” etc has some CSS formatting that includes TABLE, TR, and/or TD HTML tags.

    Please see the attached screenshot.

How can I address this so the module doesn’t have messed up sides?

Ok…so, still working on narrowing down this issue.

Using the Purity II template I applied the “_text” Module Suffix to the JEvents module. What appears to be creating the “extra area” is something pertaining to the “div.module_text span” section of the CSS.

Is this a “span issues”, as JEvents has various span tags in their “latest.php”? This is all beyond me to resolve short of trial and error. Anyone provide any insight?

JEvents has <span class=”mod_events_latest_date”> (among a few other spans). Are these spans conflicting?

    hi thewraith2,

this problem may be caused by the bg image of the main part which is too short, its hard for me to figure out since this is not JA extension, and you did not provide the link to your site. Please show me the link, perhaps I can help you.

    hungnd,

Thanks for your reply. URL is http://farrellsusma.com/index.php

Make sure you include the “index.php”, as I’m still working on the Joomla! update to the site and without it, you’ll get redirected to the “old” site.

    Thanks.

So, what you’re saying is you think the “b-bl.gif” and “b-br.gif” images aren’t tall enough. I hadn’t thought of that. Let me know what you think. If you need temporary admin access to my backend to play with the syntax of the Jevents module, let me know.

So, I just looked at “b-bl.gif”. It’s 698px tall. That’s over 9.6 inches. But, My module height IS larger than that in testing…That’s the problem. I’ll just edit all the .GIF files and increase height. That’s going to be some work, because I created 24 different colors of modules and it’s a lot of files to edit 😉

Thanks for shining the light on this issue!
