I’ve correctly set to 3 main article/0 intro article/1 column

But features article frontpage is using same story several times, and slideshow is not working.

What have I missed?

Thank You.

I often recommend the following CROSS REFERENCE and LEARNING TOOL method as a way to both cross-reference configurations as set within our template demo version(s), as well as to use as a learning tool to see how things were set up/configured.

If using this tool/method does not help you figure out this issue, let me know.

P.S. (I really like the way you’re setting up your site for use of advertising space thus far – keep up the good work !!)

Tom, I will check out the demo system later today…I’ve already used it 2 or 3 times with this project.

I thought I had all my settings correct, it just boggled me when everything fell apart when I started turning off stuff from the sample data and started adding my own. I’ve told it where to get stuff and how to order it, it just gets overzealous…The slideshow I’m sure is something simple, but why it’s re-cycling the stories at the bottom….I just don’t get that.

Thanks on the advert compliment. There’s actually more advertising space in there that I’ve turned off. But I’ve built it to hold 8 buttons, 5 boxes, and 3 horizontal banners.

Tom,

I’ve been poking the demo system for 2 days, and still can’t get down to what’s gone wrong. Everything seems to be set correctly.

Tom et al,

Let me know if you can look at the website sometime. I provided you, Tom, with the login information for the site. Everything is set up the same as the Demo; I installed with the sample data then starting posting new material and removing the sample material, that is when it went away.

I’ve got one pissed off client on my hands. I paid $50 for an ignored help request?

The site admin login information you provided is not working

If I can jump in for a second…
The version of Slideshow, T3 Framework and other components and modules are way out of date, I’m afraid, some back as far back as the release of the template.

The problems you are having, and there are others, are most likely due to the age of your components/modules which predate Joomla 1.7.0 which you are currently using.

Once you have them updated, you should be good to go!

Hi magnethead

I have checked your site and i have cofigured your slideshow module as described here
as you can see now the slideshow module works fine

The same thing is for your Home

If your Home meu item is Featured Articles and you haven’t article marked as featured you cannot see anything on your home page

this is also the reason for what your Ja_Slideshow module doesn’t show anything before because it was trying to fetch articles from categories that were empty categories

Please mark as featured at least 4 or 5 articles and you will see your site well functioning

P.S. I have updated your T3 Framework plugin and Ja_Slideshow module to the last version released.

Regards

JW, I didn’t see there being any updates there on the template download page. Perhaps I missed over them, if not, they should probably be there. I like having things that work out of the box when I download them (esp when they’re a self contained zip folder), but that’s just me.

I must have missed over that. We had some marked as featured articles, but it was tiling the same article multiple times and the rotator wasn’t rotating and it had red lettering instead of white.

Let me call the client real quick and I’ll have him throw some content up.

This still isn’t fixed. It’s not pulling titles into the rotator.

If you want titles you need to manually insert it into description field

<!--
Keep going. Keep giving. Keep engaging.
Vestibulum mauris ut sed laoreet
Obama Departs For Czech Republic
President Obama Speaks On Health Care In
Vestibulum mauris ut sed laoreet
Holds Forum On Workplace Flexibility

Please look at this guide

Then what’s the point of the rotator if you have to manually configure it? If the title is there for the article, I don’t see why it can’t use that. That’s how the rotator is on my Teline 3V2 site, it just pulls the title and pictures from any frontpage article, no manual labor. I thought the point of a CMS is to make things as quick and simple as possible?

Actually your slideshow is taking sources from images folder so in this case you need to manually insert your description for every image
