I have a few questions on the Teline IV template.

I am using the jreviews component and when I try to apply the jreviews overides in the menu manager, the template is not allowing them to work. For instance, on the cocktails/all-drinks menu, I have selected the option to display the categories is two columns.

If I view the page normally, the categories are in one column – http://barfactory.com/cocktails/all-drinks

If I view the component only, it does display the categories correctly in two columns. – http://barfactory.com/cocktails/all-drinks?tmpl=component

    Please help.

    Thanks!

    Hi barologist

Are you sure default template of joomla work good with jreviews?

I don’t know your site is test site or real site. So could you please check if it work good in default template?

jreviews works no problem with default template. The http://www.barfactory.com site is live and working great for the most part. It just seems that the jreviews overides in the joomla menu manager are not applying for some reason. If I use the default template, the jreviews overrides work. Once I apply the telin IV template, they don’t. The links nin the above post show the component working properly outside the template and not working properly inside the template.

Although I know of JReviews, I’m afraid I’m not familiar with it’s components/modules and/or how they interact with various Joomla template club frameworks. For instance, what do you mean by “JReviews override in menu manager?” Do you mean the assignment of the JReviews component to a particular menu item?

Is this related to a particular module that you have assigned to a particular menu item? If so, have you double checked the configurations? Also, does the module itself have it’s own template configurations – such as a component such as Mosets Tree does?

Lastly – and not to push you off – but have you sought assistance via the JReviews Community Forum and/or Support?

Here’s a screenshot of the jreviews overides. As you can see, I specified to display the categories in 2 columns. It works in the default template, but changes to show all categories in one column when the template is applied. View screenshots in previous thread to see the difference.

I did work with jreviews and he was able to fix a few other issues he saw. this one does seem to be isolated to the template as it works fine in a few templates I have tried.

Hmmm, I have experienced a similar issue with the Mosets Tree directory component . . . i.e. getting certain parameters/elements specified within the component to work/display within Teline IV as I want them to. I suspect, with all of the extra code and features embedded within Teline IV (arguably the most complex/involved template in the JA library), you are correct in that there is some kind of code conflict – perhaps javascript – between the JReviews component layout parameters and the Teline IV template/layout coding.

While I originally suspected this might be solely a JReviews component issue (hence my reference to the JReviews Support options), I now think that it may be an issue that our JA Technical Support Staff should look into and see if they might be able to figure out where the layout conflict snafu is occurring. As such, I will follow-up with the JA Tech Suppot Staff on your submitted Support Ticket.

Don’t give up . . . in my experience, most coding issues can be resolved – though some take a bit more investigation and trial-and-error fix-testing than others.

    Thanks Tom.

I appreciate your help with this as jreviews is the core component of my site.
