I saw that this was released with your newest template. Should UBER template users be upgrading to this version of the ACM?

    Thanks

    Hi there
    # In basically you can upgrade.
    # But i would suggest you
    – Not upgrade for crossing template extensions. If module released for template A than should not use that for B even it’s ok.
    – Make sure what do you need from new version. If there is no issues on your current version and new version have nothing you need. Than no reason to upgrade.
    # And if you stil want to do upgrade always do backup your site before.

    Thank you,

    Hello Viet,

The main question here is that with most of the new templates being issued by JA they are making upgraded to the ACM plugin. Since ACM is a standalone plugin any modifications to it should at least be supported by the UBER template. That would be standard product management best practices. Otherwise the new templates should be released with a plugin that is not the same as the UBER ACM. If you look at the bug list they are not specific to the new template so it probably makes sense that the upgrade is optional.

    Hi there
    # I absolutely agree with you that module ( not plugin ) should be work as standard alone module.
    # But in fact somehow as i saw in code. There are some “hard code” for specific template 😉
That’s why i said should not upgrade except we know what’r we doing.

    Thank you,
    Viet Vu
