Hi there,

Is anyone aware that the Amazon S3 component is an awesome product though it doesn’t seem to work when you have heaps of users registering and uploading their avatars, pics etc…

I’m not sure if this is a bug or limitation…Or is there a way to make it work?

I turned on the Cron setting and didn’t do much…I got a few people to upload a few pics and waited many hours but no image was showing until I manually uploaded images to the Amazon S3 cloud through the component.

Can anyone please help…It’s not working well like this, people think the site is broken.

Also, I have added the remote settings in the JomSocial back-end area…with key and full bucket path but still no luck…

Wouldn’t you think this would work ?

Not sure how this is overcome. Can someone from Joomlart please suggest a solution.

hello fernsy,

we are developing a new version for this component, it is almosts completed and It is maybe released on this week.
There are some new useful features and important bugs is fixed on this version.
Eg:
– cron job was fixed
– only replace link of file if that file is exists on s3 (so, you will not worry about broken links)
– manage by “Sync profile”
– …

Please wait for new version. We will inform you when is is released.
