On my dev site, I installed JA BiZ with Joomla 3.2 into a subdirectory (biz3) using the Quickstart file, with demo data. But the slideshow doesn’t show up on the home page? It DOES show up under the Explore/Color menu options though. I have Joomla 2.5 installed in the top public_html directory. Please advise if I can do this, and if so, why my Quickstart home page doesn’t seem to work.

    Hi there,

It would help if please disable your Joomla backend login redirection.

    Regards,

    Alex

My global configuration server setting for Force SSL is “none”. Please help me understand what else you are refering to? I have also disabled the Redirect plugin (there were no redirects active)

    Hi Alex,

I abandoned the effort from the direct J3.2 and JA Biz Quickstart. I tried another directory with the J2.5 and Ja Biz Quickstart. The Slideshow was working properly in this installation, so I enabled the short term support in the Joomla update component and then did a one-click update to J3.2. And the Slideshow still works on the home page. I am uneasy that the first attempt did not work, but am happy I can continue on with my development.

Thank you for your time in helping me look into this.

    Kind regards, April

    Hi April,

I am pleased to hear you’ve found a workaround for your JA Slideshow module.

One of the main causes it didn’t function properly in your previous sandbox was due to your Akeeba’s “Admin Tools Pro” created .htassess and it’s JavaScript restriction directives in particular. Please have a look at this useful guide on how to avoid such issues: https://www.akeebabackup.com/documentation/troubleshooter/athtaccessexceptions.html

I suggest you develop and test your site initially with Joomla’s default htaccess.txt and harden it up via “Admin Tools Pro” .htaccess creator last thing before going live.

    Hope this helps.

    Happy joomlarting.

    Regards

    Alex
