I’m having trouble figuring out how to configure this template for the expanded blog post pages. When a visitor clicks Read More, I’d like my pages to look essentially the same as the demo site. However, in deleting various modules that I didn’t think I needed, apparently I’ve mucked it up. In trying to re-create a tag cloud, for example, I can’t figure out:
1) how to assign the module to my blog page because of how the menu is set up for this template (page1, page2, page3, etc., which don’t show up in the menu manager).
2) how to keep the module from also showing up at the bottom of the homepage (see attached screenshot).I’ve read all the guides and tutorials associated with Cloris and think that these sidebar modules are JA Bulletin and JA Tab modules, but when I follow the steps in the tutes, the modules still show up at the bottom of the homepage (below the last page, which is the Contact form).
This is my very first Joomlart template and I LOVE, love, love it. I realize there’s a bit of a learning curve with this (new to me) framework, but I’ve already wasted a significant amount of time trying to figure this out and I really need to make some progress. I really appreciate any guidance at this point!
All best,
Melanie

January 24, 2011 at 7:38 pm #373543I think with this being the first one page template from JA we all have a learning curve here.
Rather than try and work out all the changes you may have made why not use the demo builder on the joomlart site to compare all your changes. A few clicks and you can have a live copy of the demo on JA servers to look at, simply use the demo builder button on the left of the demo page – http://www.joomlart.com/demo/#templates.joomlart.com/ja_cloris
Alternatively, make a local install of the quickstart using a tool such as Wamp (http://www.wampserver.com/en/). Using that you can have a locally running instal in just a few minutes.
January 24, 2011 at 8:11 pm #373549Thanks for your quick reply, Phill. I think using the demo builder may be the best option at this point, although I attempted to sign up for one before I bought the template and it never worked properly. I was able to log in initially, but when my connection timed out, I was never able to connect again. Not sure what happened there…
If it will let me sign up for another demo, I’ll do that. I’m actually using localhost to try and get the design right before I upload it to my live site so hopefully I’ll be able to figure out where I’ve gone wrong.
Thanks again.

January 24, 2011 at 8:28 pm #373552If you already have a copy on localhost setup then make a second with the quickstart. We could go through all the settings but it would be a lot faster for you to compare. If you were not working on localhost I would suggest you send me a PM with logon details but as that is not possible that is the best I can offer
Good luck and be sure to show your site off in the site of the month competition when you have finished it.

January 24, 2011 at 8:59 pm #373558This is really weird, but the same thing just happened to me with the new demo site: the demo was created, I was sent an e-mail with my login info, I was able to log in and check things out, but when I started to make changes (which I thought I could do–is that not possible?), it logged me out and now I can’t log back in.
Maybe I didn’t read the fine print but I was thinking that the demo site would allow me to actually play around with the content? Is that not true?
At any rate, my hunch (which I was attempting to verify when I got logged out of the demo) is that I shouldn’t have deleted the J Menu section of the Main Menu. I didn’t think I needed any of those pages, but it appears that having them is the way to anchor the J Tab modules to the individual blog entry pages. I was going to create a “hidden” menu, copy the Blog menu item’s child items to the hidden menu, and then attempt to use those as the pages that I assigned for the various J Tab modules (Search, About Us, Recent Posts, etc.). Am I getting closer? 🙂
It looks like maybe the only way to figure this out is in installing another copy on my localhost?

You can add a css code to bottom of template.css:
<blockquote>
#Mod63 {
position: fixed;
bottom: 0;
}</blockquote>For example, i added inline css use Firebug:
I don’t understand your first question.
