I can’t figure out where to go to widen the right column (items in the right position are clipped on the right side). Looking in the layout settings I can’t find anything that works.

Go into the template manager and in the layouts tab edit the default layout.

Find the line below and edit the bit in red, it is what percentage of the overall the columns should be.

<blocks name="middle" main-inner="1" colwidth="30">

I would try with a value of 35 and adjust as required from there.
