I am using JA Comment on a J2.5 site. I am trying to resolve an issue.
When a reply to a comment is made, it is hidden by default and the main comment shows a black toggle button “Hide 1 Reply”. I wish to set my site to always show all replies and remove that button.
When we enable SEF URL for our site, the ‘hidden/show replies’ problem occurs at jacomments. Then the pagination does not work first time but when we select any limit from the pagination drop down, then they (child replies) display.
Is there a way to resolve this issue?

March 21, 2012 at 7:05 am #444846Do you have comments set to be approved by the Admin before being posted maybe?
March 21, 2012 at 7:08 am #444848No, comments do not require approval.
You can see an example here: http://www.homewarrantyreports.org/warranties-by-state
For example the last comment shows “Hide 4 replies”. I have tried various changes but ultimately I need all the comments to simply always show without any “Show / Hide” button appearing.

March 21, 2012 at 8:12 am #444869The User Guide is here. Have you looked at it?
The show/hide button is for the site users convenience, maybe the visitor does not want to see comments. That is how they control it. So I believe this will be a customisation for you to do.March 21, 2012 at 10:30 am #444914We already configured the JAcomments. But the issue is not solved yet. We just use default joomla SEF features. When we enable the SEF URL, the child comments also displayed but not showing at page, because of JAComments pagination. When select any limit from the dropdown list, then the child comments display :((

March 23, 2012 at 8:05 pm #445401Just so you are aware, the Joomla 2.5 version of JA Comment was only released about 8 hours ago. If you have been running the older version on a J2.5.x site then you would need to update to the latest release as the older one was not fully J2.5 compatible. This may or may not address your current problem so I will leave it in the very capable hands of Blaine.
March 23, 2012 at 8:21 pm #445403Thank you Phill.
My only concerns is there were two customizations made by Nhat Nguyen Xuan of the JA Voice team. If I upgrade to the J2.5 version, will those changes be retained?

March 26, 2012 at 1:06 am #445634Please perform a full back up of the site and then try the newest releases and you may not need the changes done to the site.
March 28, 2012 at 6:42 am #446061The site has been updated but the issue remains.
We would like all “replies” to comments visible at all times without a “show/hide” option if possible. If that is not possible for any reason, we simply would like the default behavior set to show all replies without the need to click.
Any additional guidance would be appreciated.
March 29, 2012 at 6:26 am #446264Hello,
I am hoping for an update on this issue. The site is expected to be ready for launch this week. Just a few minor items are being fixed.
This J2.5 site has a fresh install of JA Comment. The issue related to the “Hide/Show” reply button. We would like the replies to comments to always appear, and preferably remove the hide/show. Site login information has been sent to Blaine.
Also, since the update I noticed a minor issue with the Janrain login block for the comments. Returning users see their social login option below the Joomla login information rather then to the right. This makes the block long and require a scroll bar. Prior to the latest update this issue was not present.
Thank you for your time.
