Hi,

I don’t if it’s the correct behaviours of JA Content Slider but when the main page is loaded for the first time, the module set the tab on the first category but not on “All” (I’ve several categories). I’ve searched in the tutorial and on this forum but I don’t find how to set the default tab to all categories.
Can someone tell me if I can do that or not ?

Do you mean 2 tabs: New release and Coming Soon as in our demo site? http://static.joomlart.com/images/templates/ja_mitius/userguide/tab1-front.png

As mentioned in documentation for this JA Mititus template: http://www.joomlart.com/documentation/joomla-templates/ja-mitius#install-extensions ( section 10. JA Tabs Plugin). Each tab will display content retrieved by JA Side News module, so in order to display content from all categories in default tab, you simply go to backend settings of JA Side News module used in that tab > select categories you want to show: http://static.joomlart.com/images/templates/ja_mitius/userguide/release-back.png

Hi,

Sorry for misunderstood but I was talking about JA Content Slider module not JA Side news module with JA Tab plugins … but it’s a good idea to do so 😉
In JA Content Slider, you can choose to see buttons for each selected categories in the module and when so, it add an other button to see all categories. But on first load, this act as the button from the first category is selected and not the “All” button. I find the php code wich select the default button, and I’m trying to modify that.

I tried to change the code but it doesn’t act as expected …

In modules/mod_jacontentslider/tmpl/default.php I changed :


38 } else {
39 $firstCid = array_keys($cateArr);
40 $firstCid = $firstCid[0];
41 }

to


38 } else {
39 $firstCid = array_keys($cateArr);
40 $firstCid = 0;
41 }

but no effect !!!!

Are you mentioning the Categories selection parameter in backend settings o this JA Content Slider module? Do you mean that you want to have all categories in box by default? http://prntscr.com/2436tu

Yes this parameter.
I want to display by default all the articles from all selected categories (as the button “all” does).

Hi

If you want to display articles from all categories by default, in that ‘Categories selection parameter, you can select only ‘All Categories, it will retrieve articles from all current categories in your site.

No I don’t want to display all the categories from the site, just those which are selected. It’s planned and it work in the module with clicking the “ALL” button but it’s not the default behaviours on the loading page.

I want the same behavior as the previous requester, meaning:
– information from several categories is selected
– I want to be able to choose the default category (like “All”) with which the JA Content Slider opens (now Joomlart has decided which tab this is, but in my case the content will grow over time and the category with which the site opens is empty. I want it to be “All”)

I want the first tab to be selected = “All”).

The result not being able to select the first tab is that no news is shown, unless the visitor of the site clicks “all” or one of the other categories. The purpose of adding my first category, which is currently empty, is that I have build this site for a customer and the category will be filled over time (the content of the website will be managed by the customer itself).
