Add this code in custom.css
#Mod88 { background-color: black; border-bottom: solid yellow; }

Don`t forget to change the Mod id above .

Go to /css/themes/orange/mod_janewsticker.css
.ja-healineswrap em {
color: #2a2a2a

change this code
into this
.ja-healineswrap em {
color: #fff
and
change this code
.ja-headlines-item a {
color: #666
}

into this
.ja-headlines-item a {
color: #fff
}

I am afraid that will need heavy customization, you should hire a developer to carry out such work, customization support is out of JA support scope. Sorry for not being of much help under this case
