Only in Safari do I have this major problem where the Date notation and Search in the header is blown up and moved to the left.

it is from an article. You are using the h1 tag in an article. Please try to change to the h2 tag. If you open soure page on safari, you will see my attachment file. it is an error:

I’m sorry but that solution of changing the <h1> to <h2> does not work. What it does is replaces the logo image with the text title of the site, even though it does fix the date/search problem.

What else can you suggest? I have attached the portion of the index.html code as originally scripted by JA.

The problem is not from index.php file
