Hello there

i was the JA Developer member for one year before that i was Standard member for one year
today my membership is over, i have no access to download that is ok

BUT I HAVE NO more ACCESS TO WHOLE FORUM IS STRANGE

what’s wrong if we have access to whole forum even after membership is over?
what if i have some problem with template i already used ?

In 2 years of membership i saw so many changes related to membership from 2 template you passed to 1 template per month, the validation process was not there before you added it mean while, we buy the templates we need to register them, we need also to verify the websites where we used them,

its all new, it was not there with my membership contract, that’s all right i am agree with that

but not giving access to forum for exiting member is really made me angry >:(

this is really not good i hope that joomla with not ask us to pay to access their forums in future

Doing business this way will not be appreciated by members like me >:(

kindly : you should leave our access to forum even after our membership is over i think that is not to much ask ! :confused:

So buy another year membership. What you are wanting, is something that only comes with a membership.

That’s right. You got what you paid for. You cannot really compare Joomla with JoomlArt. Joomla is free from the start, you never paid for it, so of course you don’t have to pay for the forum. But having to pay for Joomlart forum access is not that strange. If you use Joomfish, depending on the amount you pay, you get some access, for 3 months, 6 months or 1 year. After that, if you want more, pay again. It is not really that strange. I do charity work and that’s for free. Joomlart is not a charity, and I think we have to respect that.

I think most of the people refer to read only access to the non public forums excluding the ability to write posts at all and without access to the download section. Something like the free membership but with extended read access rights to the non public forums as one was once a Developer member and still could get some answers to certain problems that may be solved by other members..

When this is what they want, than give them want they want, my opinion….Otherwise, let them go! 😀

BUT, why do those not purchase a single normal membership for 50$ and good it is….it is really worth the money, so why complaining about this specific part, no one has taken you away something as this is some simple membership renewal issue and your memberships simply expired.

I also think, they want simply access to the forums without the ability to download. And from some point I can understand the issue as it can also benefit other members when those still can assist for example but do not need to download any new or old stuff. From this perspective I think it would have something positive to still have access to the forums. When the issue is “support by JA, staff and JA Developer” than it should be clear that this is only for currently paying members and not for the ones that once were some and still could only access the forums but do not get pro support by Joomlart.com…

It is simply some sort of complicating as it would mean to define new terms and conditions and to modify the forum software, access to permissions etc. etc. etc.. Could not be done over night at least.

I agree…the forum access is one of the benefits of the membership. It’s like paying for a health club membership…when the membership expires they won’t let you back in.

That’s right markb1439, and very well put.

That is a good example and maybe easier to understand. Like the other day I went to see a movie. I had a promotional discount card, but it had expired. Of course I could not use it. That’s just the way it is.

Oh yeah, and when you have no membership to the health club, you still can stand outside in front of the windows and look inside… Yet, you may also walk in, have some talk with the guys you know but are not allowed to make some work-out. But, okay, Joomlart.com is also not like the Premium Gyms that have mirrored windows and a security guard in front of the entry doors. I really feel good that way somehow, I am more active in a premium club…where the ex-members still can have some talk in the public area. 😉
