I thought the Idea of JA Event was to make it open that every registered member would be able to post their events?
I’m not seeing any feature like this, does anyone know how I can make it open so that registered users can also add their event? do I need to install a component or what? what component? and is there any template to handle my idea if this cant do it?
Thanks

January 12, 2011 at 5:25 pm #371492Not quite, the template is more of a showcase with some features llowing you to show off an event etc but it is also left open for other uses. Here is the release announcement detailing the inbuilt features – http://www.joomlart.com/joomla/templates/ja-events
In your case there are already many event extensions that might fit your needs and would work well wtih this template.
Take a look through some of the event components available on the JED and see if any of those fit your needs – http://extensions.joomla.org/search?q=events
If any take your fancy and you need help styling it to fit then drop back and I will see if I can help.

You said “but it is also left open for other uses”, tell me how do I make it open for all registered users to be able to post events from front end, I mean all registered users.. thats exactly what I want.
Thanks

January 12, 2011 at 7:18 pm #371518Open just means the template can be used for things other than events.
Take a look through the extensions I mention above and see if any fit your needs.

January 13, 2011 at 4:45 am #371590JA Events is just an template. For features you desire, you should be looking for an Event Management Component and best place to find one would be Joomla Extension Directory.
Regards
Arvind
