Interested in using this template for a literary festival, where some of our events will be paid. Does the template ‘buy your ticket’ allow for multiple events within this festival some paid some not?

Can it allow group and multiple purchase discounts and does it work with any recommended ecommerce plug-ins? I’m guessing I may need to buy a fully fledged event component rather than just a template?

Any advice appreciated.

A template only changes or affects the site layout, or graphics. It doesn’t do much with the actual functionality of the site.
So you’d still need something to actually handle the event creation and registration processes.
For that I would check the Joomla! Extension Directory. In fact, here’s a link to a list of great event management components for Joomla!
