    Dear Members,

You all must have seen the new Download System and Updates / Comparison System launched recently. As promised in the “Coming up in 2010” Blog news, I hereby present you the JA Extension Manager Component.

    Features :

    1. Upgrade your extensions right from the backend.
    2. Compare between the versions, before upgrading.
    3. Files in conflict are marked, so that you can take backups of such files.
    4. Restore point created with each upgrade, So possible to roll back to any previous date / version.
    5. All files moved to and fro are stored as backup in the component Repository.
    6. Works with all extensions (Templates / modules / plugins / components).
    7. Read more about it on the WIKI.

    Important :

    1. Components requiring upgrade of DB, needs to announce the same in the XML File. See Wiki for info.
    2. Versions and dates should be clearly marked in the XML, or the JA Extension Manager will not identify the new version.
    3. All warnings and care are clearly laid out in the Extension Help File and in the Wiki.
    4. If your server has files / folder write and Ownership problems, This component may not work and may end up breaking your site.
    5. One should take backup of complete site, before trying this out.
