I have JA_Social installed on Joomla! 1.7 on a WAMP 2.1 server and when I try to adjust the module width for the JA Facebook Social – Like Box module it is not allowing us to make the Facebook content fit within the module area designated in its settings. The content spills over the right side of the module regardless what width setting we enter. Is this a bug or is there another way other than the modules settings which control this in the T3 Framework?

    Hi,

In order to adjust those settings you have to change Width and Height on FaceBook Like fun box, you can get more info on this image i have attached->

Those are the settings to which I was referring in my post. I’ve set the width setting to numerous widths, saved the settings and then refreshed the front end with no change to the size of the module regardless of setting used.

    Hi,

I just tested this on my localhost and it’s working as it should ! Can you please check / clear /cache and /t3-assets ?
Please report if you are still facing issues with this ( but in order to provide more help i will need access – if you can have your data online ) to investigate this issue further!

Ah, ok I see now. Unless something else is edited the module background doesn’t actually adhere to the modules settings in the backend. Left/Right module positions I would have thought would be dictated by these settings like nearly every other module I’ve ever seen used in any other 3rd party module extension. So some direction in where to find the information on adjusting this would be helpful.:((

    Hi Manos,

What I mean is best shown in the thumbnail I uploaded. The module content can be made to extend beyond the modules background colors. I expected the module including its background to expand or reduce based on the height/width settings of the module itself but this does not seem to be the case.

Well i guess this is happening because most of the code is FB related and controlled, and this is why for example we can’t set color background for this one.

Huh? As the thumbnail clearly shows I can manipulate the dimensional size of the content itself from Facebook. The fact that the modules background does not expand or reduce in size according to these settings is the problem which I do not believe has anything to do with what data facebook is supplying. This probably has more to do with the template in the T3 framework than anything else because as you can see in the thumbnail the facebook data runs out and into the main.top.content area and is clipped while the module background has remained the same narrow dimensions.

    Hi,
Well i guess this is more of my language lag ( it’s a long time since i studied English so please accept my apologies as it seems i didn’t understand you correctly) .

Anyway as i have told you before i have tested JA Social (with JA Facebook ) – quick start on my localhost with xampp and it’s working fine, i tried to change the dimensions from JA Facebook module and it was a success.

So in this case i am not able to reproduce the problem you are mentioning ( and i can clearly see on the image you have attached), however i will be glad to help you to solve this problem when you have your data online and i can have access on your website and debug this issue.

I assume that you are running on the latest version of JA template/components/plugins so please try to decrease the JA Facebook module width and report if anything changes on your front end.

    Hi,

Actually I have a number of projects utilizing the JA Social template with the T3 Framework going at present. Both of which we are attempting to use this module and both which are giving us this particular issue. Please provide me with a way to send you our cpanel and ftp accesses so that we can determine how best to resolve this problem.

    Hi,

I can’t see the problem on the website you send me via PM.

Do you face that issue on a specific browser ? Please advice!

    Regards

The problem is only visible if you attempt to make the module wider than I think it is 175px. What is actually being resized from the module settings is the content only and not the module background. Both should adjust at the same time in accordance with whatever size settings are being used. Actually this is the first time I have ever come across this particular problem with a module because as I mentioned before ALL other modules I have ever used can have their height or width settings edited and those settings effect the entire module and not just its content. Typically we use Firefox latest versions for web development for obvious reasons but we do test our sites on other browsers afterwards to make sure they display properly.

If you were to alter the width setting of this module to larger than its current width setting you will immediately notice on the front end the only change being the content width and not the background of the module.

    Regards,

    Robert
