February 7, 2014 at 4:39 pm #194581My editor at http://www.globalprintmonitor.info doesn’t like using Images and Links for images. She prefers to see the images where she puts them in the back end. In JA News Featured the leading (left side) images in slide show are not automatically showing the FIRST article she has set as the intro image. In JA News 1.3.1 – Teline II – on Joomla 1.5 the first image is the one seen in JA News Frontpage. Can the first image be made to be the one that is displayed in JA News Featured in Teline IV by default without setting up in Images and Links? See http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla2/index.php/en/ to see the first image in the slide show on front page is the second image in the article.
I’m using J2XML to migrate articles together with J2XML Set Images plugin (to ensure import of any remote images that may be referenced in the http://www.globalprintmonitor.info site. You assured me earlier that this would be necessary for your new modules and plugins for Teline IV.) To avoid the use of Images and Articles (to keep peace with my editor:-) I have not set Images and Links in J2XML Set Images plugin. If I do the images disappear from the edit window (JCE) in the backend.
Is there a potential list order conflict between J2XML Set Images and JA Thumbnails plugins?

February 10, 2014 at 3:19 am #521963Hi Tim,
In previous versions of Joomla, adding images to articles had to be done through the text editor. But now from Joomla 2.5 and newer version, you should add image into that Images and Links option. This is new feature of Joomla so that our extension will also get images from this parameter.

February 10, 2014 at 11:57 am #522039Why are NO IMAGES defined in Images and Links in your Teline IV Joomla 2.5 and 3X demos? The images are only defined in the editor! The concept of WYSWIG editors has gone out of the window since Joomla 1.5 it seems.
Even if I populate the Images and Links settings I find my images are not always aligned correctly.
The HTML is: <div class=”img_caption none” style=”float: none; width: 170px;”><img class=”caption” title=”First prize in the ” src=”/tecsa.com/joomla2/images/j2xml/140203_sm_unbeatable_video_jpg_170.jpg” alt=”First prize in the “><p class=”img_caption”>First prize in the </p></div>
What setting do I have wrong?

February 11, 2014 at 3:30 am #522142You can try to add image into article content, then use JA Thumbnail plugin as our demo site. It will help to resize image and alignment (Backend > Extensions > Plugin manager > JA Thumbnail plugin). See this guide for more info: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ja-thumbnail-plugin-for-joomla-2-5-userguide/

February 12, 2014 at 1:36 pm #522395On yet another test site I have setup JA Thumbnail with Auto and Align images: right. Because I don’t want the images to be shown in a slideshow on full article view I have inserted {jathumbnail off} at top of 2 the featured articles.
- In category blog view the images are not aligned right (html says “none”) http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla25/index.php/industry-news/analogue-printing
- In frontpage (Ja News Featured module) the {jathumbnail off} is visible
- In full article view the {jathumbnail off} is hidden but creates a new empty line at top. http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla25/index.php/industry-news/analogue-printing/1-qbe-unbeatable-be-a-speedmasterq-heidelberg-launches-video-competition-on-wwwspeedmasterunbeatablecom
How can I fix these problems?
I have set you up as an admin user as before. Site is here: http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla25/
Please note: One of the articles has remote images and the other has a locally stored image. There appears to be no difference in how these images are treated, except in JA News Pro where the remote image is not displayed. Why OK in Featured but not in Pro?

February 14, 2014 at 4:11 am #522637For the alignment of image, could you PM me again the admin login info of this website: http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla25/
<blockquote>In frontpage (Ja News Featured module) the {jathumbnail off} is visible</blockquote>
<<< Please try to add jathumbnail tag to the end of article because in module It will be parsed as normal text.timtecsa Friendtimtecsa

February 14, 2014 at 1:47 pm #522713Thanks Saguaros. Putting (jathumbnail off} at the end of the article did the trick.
Perhaps this instruction in the plugin needs a small edit e.g. … tag at the end of the article.
- “Auto” mode: JA Thumbnail Plugin is enabled automatically in all Joomla articles. To turn off this feature for specific articles, use the {jathumbnail off} tag in that article.
Another odd problem: On this article, the slide show controls only work if I’m logged in at front end. It’s set to public. But the popup works and the controls in popup work. Why not on normal article view?
Also, note that in this category view the thumbnail image is not aligning right as set in JA Thumbnail.

I have PMd you admin access details.
BTW: The bike article is a good example of telling a story in pictures where the content and the pictures need to be adjacent. i.e. a good example of where {jathumbnail off} is very useful. Original is here: http://the-toast.net/2014/02/12/bike-curious-buyers-guide/view-all/

Which slideshow do you mention on this page? Could you send me screenshot highlighting it?

February 18, 2014 at 1:34 pm #523226It mysteriously fixed itself. I have now added {jathumbnail off} so there is no longer a slideshow to see.
Can you take a look at the backend to see why these articles thumbs are not aligned right in category view as set in JA Thumbnail plugin?http://217.199.187.59/tecsa.com/joomla25/index.php/industry-news/analogue-printing
