You can update the plugin using JA_Extension Manager component

If you want to update Joomlart extensions it is preferable to use Joomlart Ja Extension Manager component, this allows you ( through your Joomlart account ) to update extensions like Ja Google Map plugin released in the Ja quickstart version of the template, otherwise since the plugin is behind JAEC Membership, your membership (JATC ) is not allowed to update in the standard way ( Joomla core ).
Hope was clear in my explanation.

July 3, 2014 at 3:35 pm #541094Hi
There is an error on that file description if you click on the changelog link it refers to the Ja Popup plugin and not to the Ja Google Map plugin.
We will restore the correct description as soon as possible
As showed in the Ja Extension Manager the latest version for it is the 2.5.7
