    Hi all,

Using the JA Ironis template in Joomla v2.5.7 I came across an odd issue, which I think is a template bug:

I have granted some registered users front-end editing rights for certain categories of articles and I have implemented a “create page”-option in the front-end for those registered users, to enable them to also create new articles for those categories. Therefore I have decided to show the articles for those specific categories in the front-end via a menu item in category blog-style, because in that way newly created articles by registered users will appear in the front-end automatically.

I have found out that in the JA Ironis template the edit-button for articles in the front-end does not appear when the article that can be edited is connected to a menu item that is set as category blog-style. The edit-button for such an article is only shown immediately in case it is connected to a menu item as a single article.

There is a workaround for this: when you implement a “read-more”-button in the article, then the edit-button appears as soon as a user clicks on that button. However this workaround is not always convenient.

I have tested this with a standard Joomla template and with other JA templates (f.i. JA Purity II and JA Puresite) and in those templates it works as it should, so in my opinion this is a JA Ironis template bug and I would very much like to know how to solve this, because it seriously affects the user-friendliness of my site at the moment.

    Hello wvdongen,

Can you PM me with your site information (your site URL, your site admin account) and your FTP account? So I can diagnose this problem.

BTW, please include this forum thread URL in your PM, so I can follow it.

    Regards.

    Hi Stork11,

    Sorry, I can’t do that.

In the meantime I have found out what caused this by comparing my implementation with the one of the JA Ironis quickstart:

I have suppressed article titles in my implementation and since the edit-button is somehow connected to the article title in the JA Ironis template, it then isn’t shown either. So, once I activate article titles to be shown, then the edit-button appears again too (see the screenshot attached).
