Dear members,
We know that some of you have problems accessing the site recently. After searching around, we have decided to move the whole JA to a new server at Softlayer with the following configuration

Server: Dual Processor Quad Core Xeon 5320 – 1.86GHz (Clovertown) – 2 x 8MB cache
Ram: 4 GB FB-DIMM Registered 533/667
Disk Controller: SA-SCSI Disk Controller
First Hard Drive: 73GB SA-SCSI 15K RPM
Uplink Port Speeds: 100 Mbps Public & Private Networks
Public Bandwidth: 2000 GB Bandwidth
The upgrade will be performed at 7:00 GMT on June 22th
Moving a big site is always painful but when the pain is over, life at JA will be much better 😀

Thanks for moving to a new server, connection has been slow. I have almost the same server specs as you guys.
How long will the downtime be?

There will be almost no downtime, however we need to manually update some database changes during the transfer 🙂

I was just now able to get back here and it seems really slow still. I hope JA is still working on the upgrade..

Yes, now everything has been done. First we move the main JA Site and database and then come to download system and finally is the demo system 🙂 It is not as painful as I used to think. I ll make an annoucement later today
