Well thanks for coming out with this since no progammer want to touch and intergration of joomla and job board software out there…
Well I installed and and ran into an issue pretty quick. There is a JB login and under a create an account.. problem is what are they creating a jobseeker account or an employer account.. Does not offer a choice.
If you sign up on the site it puts you as a user of the joomlart site not as a job seeker or employer. In the installed demo and the one on the joomlart site. jobboard.joomlart.com has the same issue. If you use the given login U:employer P:employer you will login as an employer… OK how can people sign up to be an employer? there is no employer account anywhere.
Again very cool and im sure it will be worth the $400 you want for it. but I have worked on job boards for 4 yrs and there are issues.
Also when you click apply for the job the breadcrumbs distort the text of the ajax created apply fields.

Thank you for reporting. This has just been fixed, both in demo & download.
This is custom module from default joomla login, the only difference is that after login, this module can recognize if the logged in account is Job Seeker or Employer then it will display the corresponding menu.
As current design, after login, you have to update your account to be an employer or job seeker.
We should have made it more advanced, (eg: can choose Employer or Job Seeker before signup) but as we want to make it like a joomla core module (as it willl be easier for any integration with other joomla component)
Again very cool and im sure it will be worth the $400 you want for it. but I have worked on job boards for 4 yrs and there are issues.
Thanks. Such a big encouragement to us.
Also when you click apply for the job the breadcrumbs distort the text of the ajax created apply fields.
Thank you. This has been moved to the bug tracker and it will be fixed in the next build.

June 22, 2009 at 12:35 pm #308672it is important for sites to have one unified login for all functions on a site.
is there a way for a user to register and log into a site and have, cb or joomsocial, a bulletin board, and the job board as one login and registration

June 22, 2009 at 5:31 pm #308709I will reinstall the current download and give you my thoughts. I am very happy to see this happen and will give you my opinion on this mod. Just to let you know the version i downloaded had no way to advance current users to jobseeker or employer status.. they were just registered. In this industry they will not wait around for you to activate your account.. Thanks
June 24, 2009 at 5:44 am #308903Hung,
I would put my comment in the job board area of the forum but I cannot access it since I have not purchaed it and am still evaluating…First of all dont take anything i have to say as an attack on your software I was hoping a job board would be intergrated but i wish that it would be a little more robust…
You have all your usual things yo hope from a job board like job post and resume look up but here are the issues i seen in just a small time looking at it1. The job board is ment for small companies only.. like maybe 50-100 jobs. Ill tell you why… On the jobseeker side.. no search features? Now I know there is a filter off to the side that no other job side uses but it is not specific enough. How can they find a job close to them.. Not even a city search. If a user looks for an unix admin job he will get jobs posted from all over the country. not useful. The same proble lies with the employer searching resumes.. No nothing really cant search by area, education, skills.. etc. there is just one search option.. keyword. not enough.
2. The login process is still confusing.. i dont know what i am untill I activate my account and choose a radio button? Your dealing with employers that are use to employere sign up and jobseeker sign up seperately. Even if it is the same process you should have 2 login processes.
3. another problem in its current state is the price … there are alot of boards out there like jamit that are only $200 and have alot more features than what you put together.. Including Feeds from indeed, simply hired or more.
I have built a few job boards. some of which have 500 job post some 15-20,000 post all of which need navigation and search function at the highest priority.
One problem that the software does is that it does not follow what has already been done and what people are use to… Being different is good but not if it confuses or frustrates people.. I think you are on the right track but i would say you should offer the job board in beta fre free and get feedback as the sites grow. Wanting to get paid is cool but you are looking into a support nightmare when it come to peole using this for a live job board. Thanks

June 29, 2009 at 10:24 am #309419Hi Colin,
Thank you for your feedback, it have taken me some time to conduct a review in to some of the Job Board providers.I would like to answer your question as below:
First of all dont take anything i have to say as an attack on your software I was hoping a job board would be intergrated but i wish that it would be a little more robust…
You have all your usual things yo hope from a job board like job post and resume look up but here are the issues i seen in just a small time looking at itThank you, we listen to all of customer thoughts, praise or complaint. If we have not made you satisfied then please give us time…

We did have a filter search options and you can even configure more fields to show up in the filter in admin.
The advanced search feature is an independent modules and it is now in our todo list. It will be available within July 09, I promises
2. The login process is still confusing.. i dont know what i am untill I activate my account and choose a radio button? Your dealing with employers that are use to employere sign up and jobseeker sign up seperately. Even if it is the same process you should have 2 login processes.
I know we can setup a clear, step by step registration & login process. However, we ll need to overwrite the default login & register process of Joomla.
The draw-back of this customized “step by step registration & login” is that it will brake your Joomla site. Someone may want to use the Job listing as an “extra incentives” for their site then things will be complicated. We design the system with the “less is more” reasoning so that it can be useful for everybody so we need to make it tidy & organized at the first release then customized requirments will be followed as “free add-ons”
3. another problem in its current state is the price … there are alot of boards out there like jamit that are only $200 and have alot more features than what you put together.. Including Feeds from indeed, simply hired or more.
And also here is my comparision of Jamit & JA Job Board, I will be adding more softwares as well as comparison criteria when I have more opportunities to review.
Feeds features from Indeed, simply hired are being developed and be availabe in July 09 (promised)

We are not trying to be different, all the basic process for a traditional job board are carefully considerated. The only diffrence we try to make is doing these thing in smartest way.
Once again, thank you very much for your comments. Please let me know if you have any other idea.
We are listening…
