    Hello,

I wonder what features or additions I get when I use both Jom social and Ja jobboard. The CV system and a photo etc is standard in Ja Jobboard. But what features could Jom Social add to this that would be relevant for a Jobboard site?

    Regards,
    Nick

    Hi nickzor,

The quick answer is “nothing”. Your job board site should be a professional site, NOT a social site where you have people becoming buddies just because they’re looking for a job. Remember, you want companies to come to your site and look for candidates who can work for them, not who can “make friends.

Rather spilt the site and set up a seperate site with Jom social where you have people discussing careers/jobs etc

If this works for you, you owe me $20000;)

    Hello Dailyweb,

I agree with you till a certain level, however I believe Jom Social could bring more depth in your personal profile page on the jobboard site. Obviously the jobboard site wont have friend lists discussions or all that sort.

I was wondering what features of Jom social can be used in Ja Jobboard. Mainly for more personal and better profile pages for jobseekers and perhaps employers.

I’ve implemented the JA JobBoard, Jomsocial, JSPT and OSE into a client site and have found it incredibly powerful. It handles all of my business and community requirements. If planned right, user permissions within JomSocial prevent socialization between employers and employees, while OSE handles all of the site’s access permissions. Very cool.

    Hi all

The main different between JAJobBoard and JomSocial is JaJobBoard used for job/recruitment site, and JomSocial used for social site.

Also, JAJobBoard have developed a plugin to syncronize users between JAJobBoard and JomSocial.
    – When a user registered in JomSocial, the plugin auto create an Employer/JobSeeker account in JAJobBoard.
    – When user change profile in JAJobBoard or JomSocial, the plugin will update their profile to other.

You can download the plugin in: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=1768

I too would like to take a peek.
One of the problems we have with Job Board and Jomsocial is that if a user registers with Jobsocial, then it is impossible for them to register for Job board either as an employer or a Job Seeker.

Hopefully the plugin will fix that.
It would also be nice if there were a couple of plugins available for Jomsocial that display either the resume and jobs applied for in a Jobseeker profile and display posted jobs for the employer profile. It would make the site more cohesive.

    Dear ccoastsearch

We have make the JA JB JomSocial Plugin to help sync users between JAJobBoard and JomSocial. After user login, if user exist in JomSocial, this plugin will create an account in JAJobBoard and synchronize their information between two component. You can download via: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=1768

=> We can’t make plugins for Jomsocial because that isn’t our product.
