When I hit the search button the system always opens a new page.
Can u tell me where or how to fix/change this setting ?

Somehow, there is additional parameter target="_blank" added into the form of JA K2 filter search module on your site, you can try opening this file:

root/modules/mod_jak2filter/tmpl/default.php

Look for this line of code:

<form id="<?php echo $formid; ?>" name="<?php echo $formid; ?>" method="POST" action="<?php echo $host . JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_jak2filter&view=itemlist&Itemid=' . $itemid); ?>">

and remove this:

target="_blank"

if there is
