Hi Tom,
The question is not how to upgrade the Joomla installation. I already did that. The problem is that the template just doesn’t work with the Joomla 2.5 version.
I should think that not having upgrades available for quite a few older templates will cause major problems for a lot of your members, especially now security support for Joomla 1.5 has been axed. I guess I have no choice but to sell my client a new template. He won’t be happy :((

Sadly most if not all of the template clubs are in the same boat. The changes to the Joomla core were quite comprehensive for very good reasons and as a result it is a lot of work to update. This is one of the reasons most of the template clubs built frameworks such as JAT3 as it has made updating the platform a lot easier.
