October 31, 2009 at 1:10 am #322166@thatcomputerdude What should he use as an example. We would aspect these styles of templates if there were 2 a month. I glad that JA is now going to the T3 framework. Other clubs have been using that style for months and months. (Rockettheme) I agree that JA needs to step out of their comfort zone and WOW us again. JA Sulfur was a glimmer of that until it fizzled. I just think they need to let go of the knee and elbow pads and WOW us. This looks like half a dozen of the other templates before it.
How long can you watch a good show make spin offs after spin offs? It gets old.

October 31, 2009 at 3:10 am #322171Nice work JA, this is definitely a template which has a lot of potential uses. 😀
The RTL Languages menu item drops down onto the second row (FF3.5.4 OSX10.5) in the Mega Menu
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,
J.

October 31, 2009 at 2:48 pm #322194Regarding the colors i must say that you should put a black color style like the one you had with JA Avian II

What should you use for examples??
Other websites, sites you’ve done, descriptions of what you are looking for that will make you happy…….
This shouldn’t be difficult. If some of you aren’t happy, how about giving some actual feedback on what you are looking for so the JA team has some ideas of what you are looking for.
Take my advice and you’ll have a good chance of seeing templates that will “wow” you. Don’t take my advice and just come in here to complain and you won’t see change. It’s impossible to give people what they want if they don’t give feedback on what it is that they want.
Make sense?

October 31, 2009 at 3:55 pm #322198I would like to say this is a nice clean template and I sure I will be using this one a lot. The design is a little similar to previous designs. I would love to see two design a month as previous people have mentioned. Some of the other template sites are catching up to your designs.
It would be good to see some sort of transparency on the background that covers the slide-show. This would help see the main images as they are even being blocked in your example.
Likes abou this template:

Text covering slideshow
Looks a little too similar to previous templatesWould like to see:
Colours: Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple
A different kind of slideshow. More dynamic.ibrahimbdawy Friendibrahimbdawy

November 1, 2009 at 4:10 am #322233The template looks okay, but I have to agree that it’s not much different from older templates that I have seen. Here indeed the one outstanding template a month isn’t met as far as I can detect. Here’s why:
The framework, megamenu and features are all the same as the previous templates. So what’s new is this template? Not the design? And surely not the slideshow that burns my eyes 😉
I still see the same old standard column settings, nothing to be easily changed or set without having to edit the code.
There are far too few module positions, or flexible width modules, for example. No inner columns, not even any top positions, other than a Search position. Hardly any bottom flexibility. Why not code more for flexibility? If this is where the Framework comes in, why am I not getting how that works? I get it from RT, YT, MORPH, but not from JA at all.
I do not see any flexibility in styles or the mixing of styles.
Now, PLEASE don’t start telling I should not complain and stuff. I am NOT complaining. What I AM doing is very fairly pointing out that this template is a very, very mediocre template that – considering that all features were already available – is design or flexible wise of little interest.
I just hope JA will really get to creative and flexible designs, both visually and technically. JA is getting far behind compared to other clubs with this template. As a longstanding member I would find this such a shame to see.

November 1, 2009 at 7:55 pm #322272thatcomputerdude;151006So are the people that are complaining about the designs looking for templates they can use right out of the box for their clients?
What are you looking for exactly, do you have examples?
Do you have anything productive to help the JA Team?
Or do you just want to vent and complain with nothing constructive to bring to the table?
Who are you and what have you done with thatcomputerdude?
😉

November 1, 2009 at 7:58 pm #322274Bear in mind, all … this template is still in “demo” mode. CONSTRUCTIVE comments and suggestions will assist the Development Team to sharpen up things (hopefully) in time for the template’s official release.
I, for one, am very excited about this latest offering.
Look, you are going to see “similarities” in most templates – I could pull up any five RT templates and point out similarites in all of them. Even if some of the similarities some of you see are “borrowed” and/or if the assertion is accurate – why not consider it a “best of several worlds” combination.

Guess what . . . the great news is that if you don’t like it, you have to use it.

November 2, 2009 at 1:13 am #322292Thanks Tom, I can get to that idea myself. 🙂
But that’s not what I wrote about dear man. If you knew a tiny bit more about me, you would know very well that I completely modify templates anyway, in a way that you would not be able to recognize then. That’s not the point.
My point is that I miss flexibility and assurance that templates are cross browser compatible. SEO optimized. And that the framework allows for lots of flexibility for positions and such, without me having to code stuff to create them.
Also, what I look for is ideas. You know, your starting point. 🙂 For me THE CREATIVE DESIGN is a starting point, coupled with a very flexible framework. I know there is the T3 framework, but I don’t get it and actually can’t find any solid docs about it anywhere. Perhaps it’s there, but I would think that for a new framework there would be very clear pointers to where that info is at.
I really like JA, even though I seldom use a template, which has to do with the above. The reason I posted is because I am really missing something that has nothing to do with the dame old “I don’t like the template” complaints.
So, I have given you a respectful answer. Care to join in that next time? 😉
Thanks,

Thanks,
TomI believe you classified the template as “very very mediocre” – correct me if I am wrong.
Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. I simply pointed out that if you do not like it, you do not have to utilize it for a project. The fact of the matter is that 100% of the people are not / never going to be satisfied 100% of the time. There are plenty of templates that I am not crazy about – doesn’t mean they are “mediocre” just because I, personally, do not care for them.
Sure I used a little light sarcasm … but ‘cmon – “disrespectful?”
😎
P.S. (I will agree with you, at this time, about the “T3” framework . . . I’m wanting to know how accessible it is for all levels of designers for customization/modification. After all, what good is a “template” if one cannot customize it for one’s particular project).
