May 4, 2012 at 2:25 pm #451444Yes my mistake sorry…the Question was right:
Now the Problem gets bigger and bigger: The 500 Error Message ist not just if i will edit the Slide Show, it seams the Problem is everywhere. For example if i will have a new article in the main menu, the messages comes also… i cant work in my backend. I search for the Problem in Google but i dont find a helping answer. PS: I set all my Folders to 777 Perm. but the Problem is still there…
Hope someone can help me! ThanksOk i got it – but i dont know how exactly;o) I called some guy from my “domainfirm” where i got my server…he did a lot of things and he dont know wich thing was the right one, on the end. But now the 500 Error Message is gone…but 2 Things i renember – what he done – first he change the folder of the subdomain where this Template and Joomla was installed, he changed it to the root folder (first this was inside a nother folder) – than he changed something with the ftp-layer options (on “no” i think, bevor it was on “yes”)…
If someone has the same problem, i hope that this 2 Informations can help…
Have a nice Day, all you Guys!Ok – next Information: The Problem ist still there…;-( Sometimes i can work in my Backend, then the 500 Error Messages comes aggain. In the last minutes there was just this Error Message, it doesnt matter what i try: I cant edit a article, a modul, a plugin or somethin else…! I called with the Guy from my Domainfirm aggain and he told me, that the Problem is in the downloaded Package from “Joomla-Template Lens” cause the Message is:Joomla!
“500 – An error has occurred. Layout g not found” so it seems, that there is missing one layout, one data file!!?? Please: Hase somebody the same Problem? I think this new Template has some Problems inside…May 4, 2012 at 6:35 pm #451457This is so Awesome!! Is this design only for portfolios….or could it be used for other types of sites – like for an organization for instance?
Thanks,

If the problem is happening in the back end as well as the front end it suggests that something in Joomla is corrupt. It may be that one of the Joomla files did not upload correctly when you used ftp. What ftp app did you use? We often see similar problems if you use web based ftp apps. I always use a decent ftp app such as Filezilla or WinSCP both of which are free and absolutely superb.1 user says Thank You to Phill for this useful post

Or reload admin folder and no problem. (I did both to check which worked and both did).
One thing that may effect. I have to point at start to new php load so that my server uses 5.3.4 and if you do not add this to .htaccess and also tell your cgi where the php files are then you get this 500 g error a lot.
(I use Yummy ftp. for php if you understand german see here)
May 4, 2012 at 10:44 pm #451493Hi !
Same problem here – all I try to open returns:
“500 – An error has occurred.
Layout g not foundReturn to Control Panel”
Quickstart uploaded with Filezilla without any errors.
May 4, 2012 at 10:54 pm #451494More information…
The problem exists only in Google Chrome
In IE9 and firefox there´s no problem.
Updated:
Ok – this is is strange – when I wrote the above firefox worked without problems. I could open everything in the backend and see all the content.
Now works firefox suddenly no more ….

May 4, 2012 at 11:15 pm #451498I think there is a problem with the cookies that are placed on the machine. If you delete all cookies in the browser, everything works again.
Could there be a problem with a timeout since it works in the beginning and then suddenly stops working ?

May 4, 2012 at 11:32 pm #451500Is that so ?
The PHP temporary directory is not set
The PHP temporary directory is the directory that PHP uses to store an uploaded file before Joomla! can access this file. Whilst the directory not being set isn’t always a problem, if you are having issues with manifest files not being detected or uploaded files not being detected, setting this in your php.ini file might fix the issue.May 5, 2012 at 2:10 am #451516<em>@pieng 317738 wrote:</em><blockquote>I think there is a problem with the cookies that are placed on the machine. May 5, 2012 at 8:04 am #451529Hallo all:
as I supposed, i am not the only one with this problem. Ok Update-Information from me (sorry for my bad englisch – i speak German – i hope you Guys understand me):
I try a lot: I installed the Quickstartpackeg with JA Lens from different Web-FTP-Clients and at the last from FileZilla also! But it makes no differnt, always the 500 Error Message. Also with the rights, the Perm. if i do everything on 777..it still doesnt work.
Now; I try differnt Browsers; IE, Firefox and Opera and here there are some little differents (maybe that help us to fix the problem): In Opere i can open some things, and the Error Message dont come, but i cant active some buttons (like “new Article”…) so i also cant work here. Also in IE and Firefox, i always delete the cache / the chronik and sometimes after that i can work a little bit without the 500 Error Message – but than after few minutes – the Message comes allways aggain, thats really strange!
So i called with a lot of Technic-Guys from my Domainfirm. The Message 500 Error has normally something to do with Time/Outs (so the put my personal Time Out from 60MB to 128MB and for few Seconds to 500MB(!) but it still doesnt work! And they say thats why there is to read under “500 Error” – “Layout g is not found”, so it simes there is missing some Data File oder something in a Data File…! I have no problems / 500 Error Messanges” with other Quickstartpackages oder Templates from Joomlart as i have it with the new Template Lens. So i think the Problem has nothing to do with the Internet Browser, with Timouts, or with Permissions, its somethin wrong in the Quickstartpackage. Maybe i try to install just joomla and than i install the Lens Template by his owne…
Hope somebody can help me and the other Guys who has this Problem, cause the new Template looks very Good! And i want to use it also..;o)AuthorPostsThis topic contains 92 replies, has 38 voices, and was last updated by bubbletech 12 years, 5 months ago.
