    Hi,

    I have just joined solely to try and create a website with the JA_Lens template. I have downloaded XAMPP and got that up and running fine. When i follow the Quickstart guide for JA_Lens though. everything seems to go through fine but I get a page full of gibberish and no sample data. I will go through the steps I follow with screenshots to see if anyone can help me;

    1) I extract the Quickstart zip file to C:xampphtdocsvintagegshock on my local PC.

    2) I go to http://localhost/vintagegshock/installation/index.php and proceed to follow the guide

    3) Now on the next screen i get a couple of X’s but from what I have read, Joomla should still work.

    4) I have already created a database called vintagegshock in MySQL so I put these details into the db screen

    5) That seems to go through fine, I say no to the FTP screen and then enter these details at the main config page. I install the sample data; Default english. At this stage should i not have an option to install the custom data from the quickstart package?

    6) I click on the remove installation folder button and that works fine. Now when i go to the site I get lots of error messages. Most of them talking about the K2 folder. I can’t add another screenshot as i have reached the limit of five. I’ll add it under this post.

Here is the website screenshot from point 6.

Also when i scroll down past all of the error messages I don;t get to see any photo’s or pictures like the demo shows. Just place holders with the resolution in them.

Right, I’ve got rid of all the error messages following the advice from this thread:

    http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/localhost-issues/

Does this mean though that it is normal for this template to run with LOTS of errors/warnings?

I don’t have any of the demo pictures though so all i can see are the place holder images. I also have the Unable to load user with ID 42 error now which i am trying to fix. I have run through the fixes on here already but they didn’t work. I’ll try again though.

I’ve got rid of the User 42 problem now too, I had to use the fix of going into MySQL and changing the Super User/admin account to an ID of 42. so now I’ve got the basic template with no demo pictures or anything. Should they have come with the quickstart template or do I have to get them from elsewhere?

No images come with any JA template – only placeholder images – all due to copyright restrictions. I know, I think she was cute too! 😉

    Hi Psweeting
Please view thread http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/errormessage-unable-to-load-user-with-id-42-how-can-i-change-the-id/ for getting the solution to fix loading User ID 42 error.
The pictures only shows on demo site and does not include quickstart package because quickstart is just for you to build a new website and you will replace all simple data ( include pictures ) for your purpose and idea. Hope you understand us.
    6. You should disable reporting strict in php setting : error_reporting = E_ALL & ~ E_STRICT
    Regards,
