May 12, 2009 at 6:29 pm #304454I have similar problem with Mageia on IE8, and IE7 too. This is an image (the site is in localhost) from my header in IE8 and IE7. In Opera browser the text “aggiornato al 08/05/09” is in only one line, while in IE is in two lines.
There are a fix?
EDIT: I read this post: http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/ie-8-0-display-problems/
But IE8 is now stable.mfcphil Friendmfcphil

May 12, 2009 at 7:25 pm #304457In this case I activate permanently the compatibility mode in IE8. But the problem in IE7 still remain: the text is in two line, while in Opera for ex. is in one line. This cause many problem for the graphic of site. I don’t change template because Ja Mageia it’s fantastic for this type of site.
I think that the only solution for the moment is shortening the text. 🙂EDIT: can i short the space between them in css?
May 13, 2009 at 1:28 pm #304525Yes, you can change the width thru css…try changing the padding values in this css file ja-sosdmenu.css (if you using default menu)
/* 1st level */
#ja-cssmenu li a {
margin: 0;
padding: 25px 10px 10px 40px;
line-height: normal;
display: block;
text-decoration: none;
text-transform: uppercase;
color: #556975;
border-right: 1px solid #D0D9DF;
font-weight: bold;
}1 user says Thank You to d2nvllc for this useful post

I change the padding but menu is the same… Any idea? :((June 9, 2009 at 1:09 pm #307382<em>@mfcphil 128407 wrote:</em><blockquote>Until they update the fix try this
go to your admin and find your index.php file
add the following code into the first line of the head of that file <meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=7″ /></blockquote>
Do you mean the index.php file in the directory joomladirectory/ja_mageia/index.php ?
On which line should this be added ?
Thanks,
