Try adding to the end of your core.css file the following
.masshead.moduletable .box-ct {
    padding: 0 !important;
    }
yes, that has done it, many thanks.

    Can you explain to me why putting it in the core.css is better than putting in the code in the theme.css? I would like to improve my understanding of the way JA Wall works for future customisations.

    Also do you have any idea of how to stop it showing on the article page?

    thanks again.

    You can put it in the theme.css file if you wish, that was just the easiest file to find when I was testing in Firebug.

    As for the it appearing in the article pages, that is because your articles probably have not menu item for their category. Simply create a new menu in the menu manager of the type category and make sure it is published. It doesn’t have to be displayed, just published. Remember, module display is based on menu item, if an article has no corresponding menu item then Joomla just assigns it to home.
