    Hi Guys & girls,

I would like to have more control over the JA masshead. (the top menu it’s working fine)
On the left hand side I have the joomshop menu with all it’s categories, when you click on a category (including the sub categories) I would like to change the masshead example:

    Photography (masshead image 1)
    — Digital slr (masshead image 2)
    — Canon (masshead image 3)
    — Nikon (masshead image 4)

    Cosmetics (masshead image 5)
    — Lancome (masshead image 6)
    — Clarins (masshead image 7)

    and so on….

At the moment i can only assign 1 masshead for all its items in the joomshop menu
    [Masshead Itemid=”508″ title=”shop” background=”images/headers/shop.jpg”][/Masshead]

    Have a look @ http://www.maherschemist.com

    Thanks in advance,

    Rain…

    Hi Rain,

Been waiting to see the site after all your work on it. Looking good! Did you decide against different colour scheme for each department in the end?

So, masshead. JS is a component and has an ID number. So do your top megamenรผ items so you can use these in masshead. Categories and products (under shop) don’t have a Joomla ID – they are handled with and through JS so use internal codes.

Now, either you can accept this or you can set yourself for some extra work and try to work around this. What is needed is to create an ID for each categorie & sub. If you were using the colour overides that we discussed way back then I think it would be easier – we would have the main ones already – maybe not for product although I think we could solve that too. But that would be a lot of work. More than I am prepared to do for some images on a banner to be honest.

    Gruss

EDIT: Actually it is easy – I just looked back at an old Tiris I hacked for you and then wrote the tutorial on colours for categories. Same principle to get masshead to work.

Swissa good too see you are still around,

I did the menu with the different color scheme (and it worked very well) but went back to the joomshop menu as my client will have so much products with all it subs like you said it’s to much to handle, and I am afraid it will be the same case with the masshead.

Btw. read you tutorial for the new version of ja tiris 2.5 with the example room and color schemes if I understand it correctly this version makes it easier to do so. But I never did a migration for joomla and the ja tiris template so no upgrade for my client yet.
Did download the new versions and will install it on my localhost and try it out maybe it will be easy enough to migrate the content.

Also try to educate my client how to maintain the shop not an easy task as there are no or non computer skills available sending a email is already problematic.

    Grtx Rain …

Ps. moderators maybe something that can be added as a function in the ja tiris template as shops will have more than one department and it would be nice to give each department its own color scheme/template within the joomshop menu

Still around yes. Still feeling my way and learning as I go. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Both versions are easy enough to do I think. Depends how much time you have to invest ๐Ÿ˜‰

Migrate JS content can be hard and best if you use their csv export/import but it costs.

What is good though if you have a computer idiot for a client (and we all do from time-to-time it seems) is their new, for 15 bucks, “He can’t f*** up the site completely” module. ๐Ÿ™‚

You know with Tiris & JS if you have problems I will help if I can.

    Het beste.

Oh. How is the lens by the way? Worth it?!

It’s not a function of masshead but a function of Joomla and JoomShopping so Joomlart are kind of stuck without a complete rewrite.

I did a hack with a php programmer of JA Content Slider that allows JS product to be shown – it is in test at the moment. You could use that instead of masshead if you want to give a rotating show of products at the top for every category and not masshead. Could be quite cool on the site?

    Let me know.

Photography, photoshop and 3d design (3dsmax) are a passion of mine, so maybe I can be it can be of any use!

Some shots taken with the new lens…

Now that’s a great community spirit! Dank je wel.

Geile fotos. Worth it then. ๐Ÿ™‚ I wish I could use a camera properly here with all the mountains still white. Oh well.

If you send me an email address by PM I can send you the test file over the weekend – Jetzt ich muss go schlafe.

    Merci!
