Ok… so I am desperately working on a nonprofit website (http://www.vinelandbgc.org) which I am out of time and out of money and was looking for a menu. Right now I have a flash menu that is broken and will not work correctly so I’m trying to replace it with the best looking menu I can find to help promote this non profit. I stumpled upon the mega menu while checking out the Ja Purity template. I searched all over for a download link to the module and finally found one but I can’t figure out how to install it and make it work correctly.
I installed the menu fine in Joomla and enabled it… but then what else is needed? I added the menu.js and menu.css files to the template directory under I think the “js” folder. I modified my params.ini and added megamenu under positions but in Joomla all it says under template properties is that params.ini is writable. I added the joomla include in my index.php and labeled it “megamenu”. I ended up setting the position for the module to “top” for now (and also added the top include to my index.php) but nothing shows up but a bunch of empty space. Do I have to install JA Extended Parameters? What else am I missing??? I am absolutely desperate to get it to work right now. It’s so nice and professional looking!

Good luck,
Micrantha</blockquote>Ok, I installed the plugin… but still nothing… this is what my params.ini file looks like.
menutype=mainmenu
ja_menu=mega
ja_menu-mega-animation=slide
ja_menu-mega-duration=200The following is what I added for parameters…
<params><param name=”menutype” type=”menu” default=”mainmenu” label=”Menu Module” description=”Menu Module Desc” />
<param name=”ja_menu” type=”list” default=”css” label=”Menu Type” description=”Menu Type Desc”>
<option value=”split”>Split Menu</option>
<option value=”css”>CSS Menu</option>
<option value=”moo”>Moo Menu</option>
<option value=”dropline”>Dropline Menu</option>
</param></params>
Still.. nothing shows up… what am I missing here?

March 10, 2010 at 4:20 pm #335649Dear raystream,
Please tell us your Purity II version number. Give us your site link and if possible forward your ftp and Joomla Admin login details via PM to me, i can try to help you out.
As rightly pointed out by micrantha, you need to use the plugin > plg_system_jamenuparams onto latest version of JA Purity II. It will not work on purity I or any other normal template.

March 13, 2010 at 11:48 pm #336124Whether you ask for mega menu as a template menu or mega menu as a module?
Mod_jamegamenu
was available for Ja Teline III as separate extension and do not require mentioned plugin. -
