Hi

With the special characters like you mentioned, it will require UTF-8 database collation, kindly check your database and make sure it has this collation. Then backup your site first before change it to utf-8, you can try with Admin Tools or asking your host for help.

Thanks! It seems, that there was a bug in 3.6.1. With 3.6.2 everything is ok again.
