how do i use the drop down menu in JA MERCURY template?

here’s how it is shown in my index.php

$ja_menutype = 2; // 1: Split Menu; 2: Son of Suckerfish Dropdown Menu; 3: Transmenu;

2 is selected which is the dropdown menu. i want it to look like the one in the demo page:

Make a menu item and child menu items underneath it. Here’s how. Make a menu item and call it “top item”. Create another menu item and call it “sub1”. Before you save it, be sure to choose “top item” as its parent item. Create a few more sub items. Now, “top menu” should drop down.
