I’m not so hot on the product list pages. I’d prefer the product images on the left as that is what people are are going to look at first and gives a more pleasant browsing experience. Can you have the ‘Featured Products’ module on each category? That display is much more appealing the your visitors.

    You need a size guide.

You need a Security policy. Also I’d have the Verified by PayPal logo link to your paypal account so that people can see that you really are verified (https://www.paypal.com/ie/verified/pal=YOUR_PAYPAL_EMAIL_HERE). I’d also pay the $100 or whatever it is to have an SSL cert on your checkout pages. Even if you do not process credit cards on site it gives customers a huge reassurance that there is proper security on the site.

The colors are great. The red you have chosen really fits in with the logo font and the jewellery.

Overall it is a very professional looking site. Well done! I hope business is good :)</blockquote>

    Hi,

I am too excited, my website has google page rank 4. Some even said that without submit to Yahoo directory, my website won’t get page rank 4. But I got it, here is my site – http://daimingjewelry.com

    Thanks God for that!

    Hi sfpkent,

Good for you! Congratulations! I like the site too. I noticed on

    http://daimingjewelry.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=79&vmcchk=1&Itemid=79

that the banner text says “we have more than 30 years of experiences in jewelry industry.” Then the same sentence is repeated one line further down. Maybe you could leave one out.

Also, in this sentence it should say “experience” without the plural “s

And Happy New Year to you!

Hi there, you are welcome. It’s funny but when you work on something for a long time you don’t seem to notice some of these mistakes. It’s easier to see them on someone else’s site or work.

Continued good luck with the site.

Looks good. I used mesolite for my shop too.

I had trouble trying to get space between the product titles on the product scroller http://www.lyricalscotland.com – any pointers?

Did you modify a browse page for the product catalogue page or was it custom html?

    nice looking site bellab28 🙂

In Firefox it was all good, but when browsing it with crappy IE7 the shopping cart end up far to the left as does the footer info.

Could anyone enlighten the community of a fix for this as far too many users on the www unfortunately use IE?

    Hi,

I just contacted the hosting support again, they told me that for complicated website like mine, need to repair the MySql database everyday, I am wondering that and I believe that you guys have more complicated website than I am, is that true we have to repair our database everyday???

    Hi,

Firstly, I love your site. It really shows what can be done with Mesolite. The one thing that lets it down (in my opinion) is the table on the Description (flypage). It would look nicer in in a clean div based layout or maybe tabbed. ‘Tabs and Slides for Content‘ plugin works well with Virtuemart and it’s free and easy to use.

    Otherwise 10/10, it looks great!

    Cheers,
    Jason.

No, I would change the hosting company, when they tell you this is complicating site then I suppose they do not know much about hosting and internet site at all.

Also, no one has to repair one’s DB everyday, there is something wrong with the DB. Normally one does some cleanup every 4 weeks or so, to remove all entries that fill up the database with storage but this also never causes such errors.

One can’t make a lot wrong with Joomla and MySQL unless one destroys something inside the core files but I would not know how to and what one has to do to cause such error like on your site. Maybe someone knows, I would ask some host upfront that this error comes up and that you need hosting that is fit enough to work with Joomla. Most of the good hosts are fit with Joomla, when one always has problems one can simply choose the host also Joomla.org is workiing with, they simply do Joomla Hosting etc.. At the footer of the site one can find a link or http://www.rochen.com

But I also do not know how good they are but seems to provide reliable Joomla hosting…
